Celebrating a New Colour of Our Fellside 20L Backpack with a Team Hike

Updated: Jul 2

Our 7 North team laced up our walking boots and set off on an adventure to Dodd Wood (near Keswick) recently to celebrate a new colour of our popular Fellside backpack.

Our Fellside 20L daypack launched in December 2021, and has been flying off the (virtual) shelves ever since on both our Amazon store and our Lakeland Active website. After much debate (and sampling of bag colours) we decided to add a proven customer favourite colour (Moss Green... how Cumbrian!) to sit alongside the popular Black and Navy Fellside variations.

As soon as the Moss Green backpacks arrived in stock we grabbed a couple from our warehouse and headed outdoors for some fresh air and photo opportunities. We do love any excuse to get outdoors with a camera...

7 North Cumbria team at Dodd Wood Summit

Based in North Cumbria, we're very lucky to have access to epic adventures right on our doorstep. Much to our delight, the elusive Cumbrian sun even popped out from behind the clouds and graced us with its presence (hurrah).

The Dodd Wood trail is number 175 of the 214 Wainwright Peaks. It's got a great car park with toilets and a cafe (don't forget to pay for parking before you leave) and the summit trail (just under 3 miles long) takes you through woodland up steep-ish paths before opening out to dramatic views and a final panoramic viewpoint at the top.

Once we reached the summit, the team munched a few snacks whilst we enjoyed the incredible views of Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, and the surrounding fells (#InOurHappyPlace). You can spot our Warehouse Manager Matthew on the photos above modelling the Fellside to perfection in front of the view. It took us a couple of hours to get to the top and back down again for tea. We highly recommend Dodd Wood Fell as an easy-ish beginners hike, as long as you don't mind a bit of steep climbing!

It was the perfect place to take the new Moss Green Fellside out into the wild for the first time... designed as a lightweight and comfortable backpack it has plenty of space for extra layers, water bottles and snacks. With one Wainwright Peak already knocked off our list, it leaves only 213 to go! (Who knows, maybe it will become our team mission to conquer all 214... hmm).

Pictured above: Becs very excited to be on a 7 North team hike, while Kate, Will and Lizzie enjoy the view.

Always happy to test a few of our other products, our team also took some personal favourites with them. Sophie colour-coordinated with her much-loved Mossband bum bag - perfect for her phone, car keys and an array of hiking snacks. Josh pulled on a pair of Rydal Neoprene Wellington Boots (kudos to Josh for doing the hike in wellies!) for us to get some extra snaps of the best selling product before Winter 2024. And, we'll let you in on a little secret, Kate was testing a potential new bag for 2024... ooo keep your eyes peeled!

What a great way to celebrate the launch of a new backpack... we're looking forward to having more team adventures and product photo sessions in 2024!
