Take a look behind-the-scenes at our latest photo shoot and see what our 7 North team got up to with piles of thermal clogs, quilted slippers, Christmas hats and a camera.
Back in early December Becs, Chloe, Sophie, Tobias and Lou (one of our wonderful external photographers) boxed up every colour of our best selling thermal Lakeland Active clogs (that is a LOT of clogs) and a huge bag full of our Lakeland Active Wolfa slippers for a warm-and-cosy indoor photo shoot!
The Location...
A classic-yet-homely house in West Cumbria was the ideal place to capture the perfect content. Arriving with our own props (extra rugs, sheepskin blankets and a handy wooden bench) we swiftly took over the kitchen, sunroom, garden cabin, staircase and living room with fluffy clogs, lighting and laptops. Armed with cups of tea (for drinking and for inclusion on photos!) we systematically worked through our shot list, making sure the fleecey clogs looked extra cosy and our quilted slipper styling told a story.
The Inspiration...
Over the last few years our customers have told us that they love wearing our thermal clogs inside their houses as well as in their gardens. Ideal for keeping feet warm on cold kitchen floors or freezing bathroom tiles (brrr) our Lakeland Active Lined Lorton Clogs and Lined Dockray Clogs have become best sellers during the Winter months. So... this Winter we decided to shoot them being used inside a home! We shot the Wolfa slippers too because our customers love packing them for weekends away and we wanted some fireside photos and cabin-esque content.
The inspiration and styling of this photoshoot was all about warmth, comfort and cosiness with a touch of relaxation.
Reality vs. the Final Shot...
Every 7 North photo shoot includes a huge amount of silliness... but there is always method to our madness! It might look like Becs (our Director of Strategy and Content) is just lazing round on the sofa in a wooden cabin... but she was actually getting a pre-planned shot of our pink Lakeland Active women's Wolfa slippers (boom).
You might not believe us but there's actually quite a lot of planning, uncomfortable positions, props, styling, lighting and photography skill (thanks Lou!) that goes into getting the perfect final shots.
Ta-da! Doesn't that photo make you want to cosy up in front of a fire with a pair of Wolfa Slippers?
Through the wind and the rain (and the cold and the dark)...
The Cumbrian Winter weather seemed to take our 'bring cosy to life' theme a bit too seriously during this photo shoot. The rain poured relentlessly (accompanied by strong gusts of wind) and the gloomy daylight started to disappear at about 2pm, giving us a very narrow window of natural daylight time to capture our long shot list! Not to be beaten by grey skies (we're used to them) our team popped on our Christmas hats and joined forces to create the perfect lighting.
We positioned flashes, manoeuvred the light reflector 'Phil' (photography pun, anyone?) and even braved the grim weather down in the garden cabin. Sometimes, you've got to improvise... here's Sophie transforming a doggy-poo bag into a rain shield for the camera flash. Epic work.

This cosy clog and slipper shoot was a perfect festive way to end 2023! Now, onto all the photo editing...
